Student's Sweetnesses

Sarra's classes have made me feel things that I have never experienced before: calm, focused, connected and transcendent... a reward of the practice I had never even known I could have that experience in my body/mind. She provides a key to a magic of movement that I didn't know existed and her insights into poses and systems are deeper than most teachers! I have gained so much joy and peace from Sarra's classes, and learned so much about how much I don't know... Plus she's funny !

Sarra is an inspiring and enlightening teacher, because she continues to investigate -- life, asana, the world, breath, and how each of those informs the others. One of her particular gifts is the way she sequences a class, or a practice. Many skilled teachers help their students systematically open up their bodies to work their way into a difficult asana. Yes, Sarra has the depth of practice and teaching to do this, but more important, she challenges us to focus on the "getting there," not the arriving. The present moment is always a transition from one state to the next and she gently, wisely, persistently encourages her students to explore and relish each moment fully. An additional treat is Sarra's singing and harmonium-playing. This too she offers in a welcoming way: it's never a performance, rather a chance to participate in and feel a connection to community and yogic tradition.

I highly recommend Sarra’s class to anyone looking to deepen their practice.

Sarra is a devoted and serious student of Yoga. Fortunately, she is happy to share what she has learned and has the experience and teaching  skills to do it.

An important element of Yoga is developing greater awareness and focus. Sarra guides a simple but challenging practice with focus on breath, intention and awareness. New levels are exposed and you leave feeling great.

Moreover, she often brings her harmonium, which coupled with kirtan and her beautiful voice adds a enchanting element of bhakti to the class.

If you are fortunate enough to get the opportunity to practice with Sarra- Enjoy

The sequencing immersion with Sarra exceeded my expectations!  It is a perfect blend of learning and doing - in a laid back environment.  All concepts are preceded or followed by a practice incorporating them, which helps with understanding and retention. We were challenged out of our comfort zones and encouraged to explore thru movement. Sarra is extremely knowledgable. I highly recommend this training to anyone who has an interest in exploring sequencing or advancing their teaching skills!

Sequencing has always been my biggest struggle when teaching.  After Sarra's workshop, I now feel like I can look at asanas in an entirely new way.  It's even made me excited about practicing on my own. And, I'm already finding progress in my own practice because of what I've learned.
